how to get here?
Andorra is situated between Spain and France, and even if it's a country in altitude, there is an easy access to it. There is a wide range of possibilities and you can come by public transportation or by your own means.

Travel by car

To get to Andorra from Spain you must enter by the N-145 road that gives access to the south of the country. If you access it from France, you enter from the N22 road that is to the east of the principality. Andorran roads are paved, well-marked and in good condition to drive on them. If there is no snow forecasted for the month of October, the use of chains will not be necessary.

To park the car

To park the vehicle, you can use any of the 90 car parks located in the Principality. Andorra La Vella communal Parkings are the most economical and are located downtown and they offer the possibility of paying per day or overnight (20 € approx. / Day). Check here for rates and subscriptions.

Traveling by train

If you decide come by train to Andorra, you must keep in mind that you will need to transfer from the station to Andorra La Vella. If you are coming from France the nearest station is L'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre and it is located at 11 kilometers away from the border by road. From Spain, the best located stations are Lleida-Pirineus, if you are coming from Madrid or Puigcerdà if you are coming from Barcelona. In both cases you can use a rental car or bus to reach the principality.

Travel by airplane

The closest airport to Andorra, Andorra-La Seu (LEU, is not enabled for commercial flights and routes are limited to summer period.) Within a radius of 200 kilometers you have the airports of Toulouse-Blagnac (TLS), Carcassonne ( CCF), Girona-Costa Brava (GRO), Barcelona-El Prat (BCN) and Reus (REU).

Traveling by bus

More central, 1,5km away, Camping Valira has got 150 spots to park motorhomes for 25 € per day.

ACTIVITY PROPOSALS FOR COMPANIONS

It is the star excursion of the Principality of Andorra and it is affordable for children and adults. Discover the three lakes located in Arcalís during a well-marked and easily accessible route. From the lakes you can also access different routes of different difficulty levels.

The steel industry was one of Andorra's main sources of income from the XNUMXth to the XNUMXth century. During the tour you can visit the inside of the Llorts mine and the path of the Iron Men, in the Vall de Ordino.

The park's landscape is made of forests, lakes and waterfalls on the high towering mountain. Located in La Massana, it has paths for all levels and durations.

Located in Escaldes-Engordany, the Engolasters Lake supplies the Andorran power station. On your way to the lake you can enjoy small botanical gardens and rest on their benches and tables.

Discover the flavors of the high mountain through the traditional dishes of Andorra.

Escudella. It is a spoon dish made with seasonal vegetables and pork. A traditional dish that is usually served in winter and at popular events.

El mountain trinxat of Mountain is a traditional dish of the Pyrenees made from winter cabbage, potatoes, garlic and bacon.

Andorran Cannelloni. They are a variant of the Catalan recipe that mixes lamb, pork and chicken meat in a few rolls of pasta accompanied by bechamel.

Bush meat. It is integrated into some dishes that you will find at the beginning of the hunting season, such as the civet de hare or wild boar. It is usually served in stew with vegetables and mushrooms. And with the arrival of fishing season, you can taste the Andorran trout, sautéed with almonds and ham.

Cod. It used to be a main dish, such as herring or conger, fish that reached mountain areas thanks to its salt-based preservation. Today you can taste the cod au gratin with aioli, being the most traditional way to eat it.
